Transition words to start the paragraph..help!?

One word isn't going to do it. Think of writing an opening sentence for each paragraph that states the main idea of that paragraph. So you might say, "A second theme in both books is the way the main characters are changed by someone's death. In "To Kill a Mockingbird" Scout..." (describe how she changes) In "In the Heat of the Night" Bill... (describe the change). Then the part about how Scout was more flexible if that made her change greater or more dramatic.
